Course Description:
The EMS – Radiation Patient Management
course is a 6-hour comprehensive
program provided for EMTs and paramedics,
other pre-hospital medical personnel who
are involved with the day-to-day EMS response
and/or operation. The course provides the
student with an examination of the response
protocols, concepts, and skills associated
with planning, preparing for, responding
to, and managing patients contaminated with
and/or exposed to radioactive material,
including multiple casualties. The course
instructor is a nationally experienced lecturer,
author and federal government contractor
who will provide material in a lecture format
as well as through practice and demonstration
of skills and techniques. (Note: This course
has been provided to EMS organizations throughout
the US).
